HOW TO DIY A VEST The waistcoat, or vest is a close-fitting sleeveless ... OUT OF ARTIFICIAL FUR!
Vests are the easiest form of an overcoat construction. It is like a jacket, but since it does not have sleeves and as long as you do not add details such as pockets and flaps, lining and other details, it can be a very quick DIY. Artificial fur is a great material for a simple vest.
Check out how you can make a vest by using a sleeveless t-shirt you like!
For this DIY you will need about 20 min of your time and the following:
Tools
x pair of scissorsPAIR OF SCISSORS Scissors are a tool to cut objects. They ar... or a cutting knife
x chalk
x tape measure
x sewing machine or a needle and a thread
Materials
x your favorite t-shirt
Take your favorite sleeveless top, place it on the inner side of your fury material and draw its outline with a chalk
Leave 2 cm extra on the sides for the seam allowances. Do the same for the shoulder lines
And that is your back ready!
Draw one more piece like the back and draw a vertical line on the center front (C.F.). This is going to be your front opening.
Now cut the opening. For cutting fur and leather, the use of a cutting knife is more suitable. By using the knife you can be more precise in cutting only the fabric base and avoiding cutting any hair
If you do not feel comfortable with the knife, you can always go back to your pair of scissors
Cut the neckline and the armhole as well
Stick a thick thread on your needle and go for it! with only 4 seams you are ready!
