“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost Poet Laureate of Vermont
Calliope Poppy Anastouli meets us at ΦΟΥΑΡ on Wednesday 29/11/2017 and guides us into her personal exhibition, where she presents handmade creations formed without the use of any machine or electrical devices. Her WAKEUPCUT technique of assembly is inspired by her vision of self-sufficient creation that respects the need for sustainability in the fashion world and the need for all of us to be distinctive and diverse.
In Knotting Robin Hood Exhibition she chooses handmade capes as a vehicle; a protective garment loved by many who have lived or sought a hideout in the forest, where there is a common language for everyone, “the language of the trees.”
People wear capes in the woods and when they get tired, they lay it on the ground as if they were making their bed, and there they fall asleep … they fall into their dreams.
